About The Mall Directory

The Mall Directory is a free directory of 3,152 mall and shopping-center records across 55 US states and territories. For each location we list what we know: address, phone number, website, opening hours, and a map with directions. You can browse by state or city, or search for malls near your location.

Where the data comes from

Mall listings are sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database License (ODbL). The current dataset was compiled on July 11, 2026. Coverage and detail vary by location — community-mapped data is richer in some regions than others — so some listings include full contact details while others carry only a name and location.

How listings are written

Selected malls have summaries, classifications and visiting details checked against official sources. Their pages identify the source and review date for those facts. Other major-mall summaries draw on published historical sources; remaining descriptions use the recorded name and location. We publish category labels only after source review. A missing field means we do not have usable information for it.

Store directories are partial community-mapped inventories. A retrieval date tells you when we refreshed the map records; it does not certify that every tenant is still trading. Official directories are linked where checked. Regular mall hours can differ from individual store, restaurant, attraction and holiday schedules.

Our city comparisons are editorial suggestions based on the cited features. Regional comparisons explicitly identify destinations outside the city. Rankings by mapped store count measure directory coverage, rather than official floor area or shopping quality.
