25 U.S. Malls with the Most Mapped Stores
Among malls with a precisely mapped OpenStreetMap footprint, Mall of America has the most stores, restaurants, and venues on record, with 238. The top 25 span 16 states — from coastal super-regionals to the giant outlet centers of the Sun Belt.
Methodology: store counts are individually mapped, de-duplicated places (stores, restaurants, cinemas, and other venues) inside each mall's exact way or relation footprint in OpenStreetMap, using the July 11, 2026 base dataset and subsequent per-mall refreshes. Retrieval dates appear on refreshed mall pages. Node-only listings are excluded because their nearby-place search can include unrelated businesses. Mapping completeness varies, and store count is not leasable floor area — this ranks mapped directory coverage, not official mall size.
