Metrocenter Mall
Jackson, Mississippi
Metrocenter Mall opened in 1978 as Mississippi's largest enclosed shopping center, built by Jim Wilson & Associates near the interchange of Interstate 20 and Interstate 220 in Jackson. The 1,250,000-square-foot property declined over roughly a decade under its later owners before going into foreclosure in November 2012. The mall now sits closed and vacant, with its last tenant, City of Jackson offices in the former Belk space, having departed over facility complaints, alongside empty anchor spaces once held by Sears, Burlington, and Dillard's.
