Bangor Mall opened in October 1978 on a former dairy farm along Interstate 95, currently anchored by JCPenney and Dick's Sporting Goods after Sears and Macy's both departed by 2018. Namdar Realty Group has owned the mall since 2019, and by 2026 the company announced plans to sell it to Bangor Marketplace and Residences LLC, which intends to convert underused sections into condominiums and assisted living facilities.
