San Francisco Ferry Building
San Francisco, California

San Francisco's Ferry Building opened in 1898 as a Beaux-Arts ferry terminal designed by architect A. Page Brown, topped by a 245-foot clock tower visible from Market Street. A 2002 renovation restored the 660-foot Great Nave and converted the ground-floor baggage area into a food hall marketplace, while the upper floors remain office and Port Commission space. Ferry service continues today via Golden Gate Ferry and San Francisco Bay Ferry routes.
