Muncie Mall
Muncie, Indiana
Developed by Melvin Simon & Associates, Muncie Mall opened in 1970 along McGalliard Road as one of the earliest enclosed regional centers in east-central Indiana, originally anchored by Britt's, W. T. Grant, Sears, and Ball Stores. Declining traffic set in during the early 2000s as competition grew from big-box stores and online retail, and after its last department stores departed, the property was sold to Hull Property Group in 2024. Full demolition of the enclosed structure is expected to begin in 2026.
