CherryVale Mall sits along the Rockford-Cherry Valley border at the crossing of US 20, I-39, and I-90, standing as the largest shopping mall in northern Illinois outside the Chicago suburbs. It holds the distinction of being Rockford's first fully enclosed mall and once hosted the state's first Marshall Field's outside the Chicago area. CBL & Associates Properties has owned the two-story center since 2001, with JCPenney, Macy's, and Barnes & Noble among current anchors alongside a vacant space once held by Bergner's.
