Emerald Square opened in 1989 along U.S. Route 1 in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, near the Rhode Island border, offering three levels and 563,979 square feet that serve northern Bristol County and the Providence area. More than 120 stores filled the mall at its 1990s peak, including JCPenney, Sears, and G. Fox. As of 2025, JCPenney and two Macy's locations remain as anchors, but the former Sears space sits empty and owner Summit Properties USA has watched vacancy climb past 50 percent.
