Desert Ridge Marketplace opened in December 2001 off Loop 101 in North Phoenix, built by Vestar Development to draw upscale shoppers from Scottsdale and the northeast Valley. The center offers 1.2 million square feet organized around a central hub called The District, home to boutiques, restaurants, a splash pad, and a fireplace, with larger-format stores, a grocery, and a gas station ringing the perimeter. A 2017 refresh added a new fountain, updated branding, and repainted storefronts.
