Also called Gateway Center, Bronx Terminal Market lines the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx on a 17-acre site once home to a wholesale produce market and a men's detention facility, just south of Yankee Stadium. The $500 million project, finished in 2009, combines newly built structures with a renovated piece of the original market and offers nearly a million square feet of retail. A six-level, 2,600-car garage connects the two main buildings, and the development has earned a LEED Silver rating.
